Spreading Joy and Making a Difference: Charity Event at Adair Arms Hotel Raises £923 for Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice

At McKeever Hotels, we don’t just host events – “we do more”.  On the 20th of April 2024, we demonstrated our commitment to our community by hosting a heartwarming charity event at Adair Arms Hotel in Ballymena. This event, in support of McKeever Hotel’s Charity of the Year, Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice, was a testament to our brand promise of going above and beyond.

The event welcomed guests to indulge in the spirit of giving at our Coffee Morning and Teddy Bears Picnic. Our team spared no effort in baking an array of delicious cakes and buns, while hot cups of McKeever coffee kept everyone warm and cosy.

One of the highlights of the day was the special appearance of Peppa Pig, who stole the hearts of children and adults alike! With her infectious laughter and playful antics, Peppa Pig added an extra layer of joy to the event, making it a memorable experience for everyone.

Bringing along their favourite teddy bears, our little charity supporters enjoyed a delightful picnic spread of sandwiches, fruit, buns, and juice. Children were not only entertained by Peppa Pig but also enjoyed cartoons and music playing on a screen, adding to the festive atmosphere.

What truly made the event special was the generosity of our guests. There was no fixed price for admission – just generous donations on the day. Together, we managed to raise an incredible £923 for Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice. This contribution will make a significant difference in supporting the vital work they do for children and families in need.

At McKeever Hotels, our commitment to making a difference doesn’t end with one event. We have lots of initiatives planned for the year to further support our fundraising and volunteering efforts. For instance, 5p from every cup of McKeever coffee sold across our hotels goes directly to the charity. Additionally, we are proud to continue our Green Rooms Initiative – a concept simple in its approach but potentially huge in impact. Guests staying for more than two nights can join us in supporting both the environment and the NI Children’s Hospice by opting out of daily housekeeping. For each night they participate, we will donate £5 of their room charge to this worthy cause.

As we reflect on the success of our Teddy Bears Picnic and look ahead to our future initiatives, we are filled with gratitude for everyone who has supported us along the way.
